Royan worked for many years at the Glenfiddich Distillery, where she started as a tour guide before moving into the distillery administration team and later running the hospitality and events team.

As a local Dufftown resident, Royan will be seen out and about most days, manning our project office at the Old Post Office, answering questions from the community and sharing our plans and project milestones.

With her extensive experience in leisure and hospitality, she will play a key role in driving our destination marketing efforts, working alongside Visit Moray Speyside to promote Dufftown to domestic visitors and international tourists.

" I found Dufftown when I started a summer job at Glenfiddich Distillery aged 19, it was never meant to be anything more than a temporary part in my life. I almost immediately felt like I was at home and made the official move to live here the following year. 10 years on including 4 house moves and a year away to travel has not changed that feeling. If anything, it has solidified it.

Meeting the team behind Truerlein and hearing them speak so fondly about Dufftown in the same way I do, sealed the deal for me wanting to be being involved. To be part of a project that wants to develop and improve where I live whilst respecting the community and heritage is a no-brainer and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to be a part of it. "
